Link x Reader One Shot

Your legs dangled from the branch as your eyes scanned the area. Link had told you to meet him here without telling you why. He was late. An hour late in fact. Patient as ever, you decided to wait for him, but not without thinking of a way to get him back for it. A low sigh escaped your lips as you leaned back against the tree trunk. How much longer would he be? Your eyes slowly closed while you tried to fight the exhaustion you felt. "I hope he comes soon" You hummed sleepily.

"(Y/N)!" Your eyes flicked open at the sound of your name being called. Although you were certain you had heard it, there was nobody around. "(Y/N)" Furrowing your eyebrows, you carefully jumped from the tree and glanced around.

"Y-yes?" You stuttered, fully aware that it was growing dark.

"(Y/N)" The voice appeared to be closer this time and a bit more familiar.

"H-hello?" Just as the word left your lips, something gently brushed your back, causing your body to stiffen in fright.

"(Y/N)..." Gentle arms wrapped around your waist as you felt warm breath sweep past your cheek. "I'm glad you waited..."

"Link" Your voice sounded breathless. You chuckled softly as you span around in his arms, giving him a light shove in the process. "You scared me"

"I'm sorry" He smiled while he lowered his face to yours. "I didn't mean to" His hand slowly lifted from your back. Not looking away from his eyes, you felt his finger lightly brush your bottom lip. His eyes sparkled as if he knew something. "(Y/N)...I..."

"What is it?"

"I want to ask you something" A blush quickly spread across his cheeks as his gaze shifted away from you.

"You can ask me anything" Slowly, he looked at you again, the sparkle seemed to be brighter. He lent towards you, removing his hand and replacing it with his lips. As they ever so gently brushed against yours, he whispered softly "Will you marry me?"

"Of course I will"

No more words were needed at this point as his lips pressed against yours.
